Congratulations. You are a Gator! Florida Days is a one-day event at the J. Wayne Reitz Student Union on the University of Florida campus. The program is for newly admitted freshman Gators and one family member. Florida Days is for students and their family members who haven't committed to UF and are seeking more information about the opportunities our university has to offer. This is an INVITATION ONLY event, and space is limited.
Newly admitted Gators will be able to register using a registration link they will receive via email on Monday, February 19, 2018. This will be the first opportunity to register, and the window will remain open until the event close date or until it is at capacity.
Families should coordinate their schedules and discuss among themselves which event date would work best for the newly admitted student and his/her one family member guest before registering. In order to ensure that registration goes smoothly and that event dates don't fill to capacity prematurely, only one family member per family (preferably the newly admitted student) should register. For registration changes and cancellations see the FAQ.
A parking permit will be required to park. Please download and print the parking pass for the date of your event.

This is an event for you, so dress comfortably with comfortable shoes. Some of the rooms and colleges may be cold so bring a jacket or wrap. You will be walking outside so check the weather prior to attending to make sure you are dressed for the weather and if you need rain gear.
All visitors may access UF wifi through ufguest. You will obtain temporary access through a username and password received via text message to you once you join the wireless network.
GPS addresses are J. Wayne Reitz Union, 686 Museum Road, Gainesville, FL 32611; Curtis M. Phillips Center Parking Garage, 3201 Hull Road, Gainesville, FL 32611.
Parking will be located in the Curtis M. Phillips Center Parking Garage. Coach buses will take you from the Curtis M. Phillips Center Parking Garage to the J. Wayne Reitz Union. The buses will be available throughout the day to transport you back to your car. The last bus between the two locations will depart the Reitz Union at 3:30 PM.
If you book lodging with the J. Wayne Reitz Union Hotel on the UF campus, your parking will be validated with your reservation. You will be staying in the same location as the event; you do not need to worry about parking or moving your car.
Here are maps of the interior of the Reitz Union for your use.
On the day of the event, the university will provide you and your family member with a lunch voucher to enjoy dining anywhere on campus. While UF endorses no one hotel in Gainesville, this list of area accommodations is provided as a convenience.
As much as we would like to have more of the newly admitted Gator family attend, due to space limitations, we can only accommodate one student and one family member.
Newly admitted Gators will be able to register using a registration link they will receive via email the week after admissions decisions are made. Although parents of newly admitted may receive an invite as well, the registration link will only be sent to the student's email.
There will be no waitlist for Destination UF. We strongly encourage invitees to register early before their preferred date fills to capacity. In the event that your preferred date for Florida Days fills up, a waitlist button will appear. Fill out the information to be put on the waitlist. If a seat has opened up due to a cancellation, Eventbrite will notify you once you are at the top of the waitlist. When you get this message you will have up to one day to claim your spot before it is offered to the next individual on the waitlist. You will not be to register past the posted "registration close date" for each event date.
Attendance can only be guaranteed for invitees who have registered. Walk-on registration is not accepted for Destination UF and will only be allowed for Florida Days after confirming at the check-in/registration table on the day of the event or via phone/email with the program coordinator at least one business day prior that there is space to walk on.
Eventbrite will allow you to change your registration by the "registration close date" as long as the new date that you want is available. Log back into the registration link and add the date you want. Once you have acquired the new date, you must delete your first registration date. If you are needing to cancel your registration all together, simply click on the delete/cancel registration button once you have logged back into your registration page. *Please note that weekly reports will be generated to identify and delete duplicate registrations.
While Florida Days is especially suited for newly admitted freshmen who have not yet committed to UF, it is not a mandatory event.
Both of these events for newly admitted freshmen provide opportunities for you to connect with The Gator Nation before making your final college decision. Florida Days is held on the UF campus in Gainesville and allows students and their families to connect with resources on campus. Destination UF is a welcome reception that is located in specific cities throughout the United States. Destination UF will provide information about UF campus resources and connect you to UF alumni and families within a city near you.
Since this program is designed to give newly admitted students the opportunity to explore for themselves all of the impressive reasons that make the University of Florida a great institution, we try our best to get key departments, colleges and programs to join us. Just to name a few, Housing, Financial Affairs, the Honors Program, College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, College of Business, College of Engineering, College of Arts, Office of Academic Support, Student Activities & Sorority and Fraternity Affairs have all participated in the past. Our campus partners table during our resource fair, giving attendees the opportunity to collect information and ask direct questions. Secondly, break-out sessions are held where our campus partners conduct presentations keeping attendees informed about what their area offers and how they support students. Lastly, several of our campus partners, such as Housing, will give tours or host an open house in their building. Interested invitees should check out the information listed at the top of this page found under the heading "Tentative Itinerary."
These events are not mandatory events, and one event isn't preferred over the other. We strongly encourage you to select the event that is most convenient for you and your family. So that we may accommodate as many future Gators as possible, please select only one event. Space is limited, so please register early.
Yes, there are. Here are some other opportunities for you to visit our campus and see what the Gator Nation has to offer.
Preview is your introduction to UF and is a mandatory two-day orientation for students and is highly encouraged for family members. During Preview, you will learn about UF resources, receive academic advising, and register for classes. This program will start during the summer after you have confirmed your admission to UF. This is also where students will get to meet their academic advisors and sign up for classes.
Yes, Florida Days attendees can join the walking campus tour that has been provided especially for them.
