New Student Orientation
Undergraduate Orientation
Undergraduate orientation is the first step in helping you transition to life at the University of Florida.
Before you move to Gainesville — June if you will enroll in the fall, November if you will enroll in the spring, and May if you will enroll in the Summer B term — you will be invited to come to campus for Preview, the mandatory orientation program for all new students.
Staff will orient you to campus landmarks and buildings. You also will be introduced to university protocols - the do's and don'ts of freshman life - academic, institutional and social. In no time at all, you will become a part of and take pride in the UF community.
One of the most exciting aspects of undergraduate orientation is registering for your first term. You will receive a personal academic advising session before you register, where you will learn about academic requirements and the procedures for registration. Detailed information will be mailed to you as your entry to UF approaches.
Before you arrive on campus, explore the Preview site for information and resources that will ensure you are prepared for your undergraduate orientation.
Graduate Orientation
Orientation for new graduate students takes place at the start of fall and spring semesters every academic year to acquaint you with UF personnel, services, policies and procedures as a newcomer to the University of Florida. Graduate students admittted to summer semesters are to attend fall orientation.
