The University of Florida has 21 colleges and schools that offer more than 200 majors and specializations.
Choosing a major can be difficult if you are not familiar with the colleges on campus. It can be easier if you begin your search for a major by examining your interest areas and career choices rather than focusing on majors as they are offered by the colleges.
As you consider a specific major, please review the course work required for that major. UF’s universal tracking program provides all the courses you must complete for the degree. This semester-by-semester plan is available for every major in the Undergraduate Catalog. By following the plan, you can stay on-track and graduate on time in eight semesters (the standard length for most degrees).
The universal tracking program also allows you to run a degree audit for any major at UF. The audit lists the admission and degree requirements for every major. It will evaluate whether any course work you have completed will satisfy a specific major’s admission or degree requirements.

The University of Florida wants you to be informed and involved in your own educational planning, and we want you to graduate on time. The universal tracking program helps to ensure that you stay on-track toward graduation. If you do, the university guarantees that it will offer enough sections of the courses you need, when you need them.
Students often change their minds about majors and careers. That's why we provide information about every major and academic advisers to guide you.
We do not want you to default into a major because deadlines were near. Make your search for a major proactive so you end up with what you want,
not what you had to take.
Note: There is often very little relationship between undergraduate degrees and specific types of employment. A specific major does not guarantee employment in a specific field, nor does a specific major limit employment to a specific field.
