Are You Interested in the Health Professions?

Chemist Preprofessional majors demand good academic performance for admission to medical, dental, veterinary, physical therapy, nurse practitioner, podiatry, optometry or chiropractic schools. Rigorous undergraduate courses, excellent grades, good recommendations and high scores on admission exams are required.

Medical, dental, veterinary, physical therapy, nurse practitioner, podiatry, optometry and chiropractic schools require no particular undergraduate majors, although prospective applicants generally choose undergraduate majors in the biological and physical sciences. These majors require a solid foundation in math and science.

More information is available from pre-health professions advising.
