Hispanic-Latino High School Scholars Program

Sunday - Monday, June 28 and 29, 2009
UF Campus in Gainesville

NOTE: Registration is closed; only those who have already registered can attend the 2009 program.

The Hispanic-Latino Outstanding High School Scholars Program is designed to acquaint superior high school students with the University of Florida. Your academic performance in high school demonstrates the level of achievement and commitment we want in University of Florida students.

The two-day program begins Sunday, June 28, and concludes at 2:00 p.m. the following day. The University of Florida provides on-campus lodging for invited students in Broward Hall.

Use this opportunity to explore your scholastic future and to gain an insider's perspective of the application and admissions process. You and your parents will meet current students, faculty members and administrators. You will have an opportunity to experience college student life, explore UF's majors and degree programs, and learn about the admissions process and financial aid. There will also be guided walking tours of campus and opportunities to visit the facilities that interest you.

Selected students will need to register as soon as possible after registration opens in May, for registration will close when the program reaches capacity, and this may be before the published deadline. You will receive confirmation of your registration along with directions to the university.

University residence hall lodging will be provided free to the first 200 students who register. After that, you are responsible for your overnight accommodations.

Because residence hall lodging is for students only, a list of hotels and directions to campus is provided for you and your guests, who are encouraged to participate in all program activities. We do ask, however, that you limit your guests to your parents or to one adult family member (no more than two guests in addition to yourself).

We look forward to your arrival this summer when you will be a Gator for a weekend! If you have questions or any special physical needs, contact the Office of Outreach and Community Development at 352-392-9960.
