Hispanic-Latino High School Scholars Program
Sunday - Monday, June 29 and 30, 2008
UF Campus in Gainesville
Special Admission Application for Program Participants
Congratulations on your invitation to participate in this year's Hispanic-Latino Outstanding High School Scholars Program, which is designed to acquaint superior high school students with the University of Florida. Your academic performance in high school demonstrates the level of achievement and commitment we want in University of Florida students.
The two-day program begins Sunday, June 29, and concludes at 2 p.m. the following day. The University of Florida provides on-campus lodging for invited students in Broward Hall.
Use this opportunity to explore your scholastic future and to gain an insider's perspective of the application and admissions process. You and your parents will meet current students, faculty members and administrators. You will have an opportunity to experience college student life, explore UF's majors and degree programs, and learn about the admissions process and financial aid. There will also be guided walking tours of campus and opportunities to visit the facilities that interest you.
Because residence hall lodging is for students only, a list of hotels and directions to campus is provided for you and your guests, who are encouraged to participate in all program activities. We do ask, however, that you limit your guests to your parents or to one adult family member (no more than two guests in addition to yourself).
Please bring your registration confirmation, an official (sealed) high school transcript, a personal résumé, and your UF admission essay.
We look forward to your arrival this summer when you will be a Gator for a weekend! If you have questions or any special physical needs, contact the Office of Outreach and Community Development at 352-392-9960.
