Complete these steps for an easy transition to UF

  1. Your UFID
    When you submitted your application to UF, you were given your official University of Florida Identification Number (UFID). You will need this number to perform any of the necessary and critical functions of a new student. If you no longer have your UFID, please follow these instructions to obtain your UFID.
  2. Create a GatorLink Account
    GatorLink is your computer network identity at the University of Florida. GatorLink offers access to a variety of campus computing services at no cost. You may have already created a Gatorlink account to access you application status. If not, you will need to create a GatorLink account to complete some necessary student transactions at UF.
  3. Submit Your Required Tuition Deposit
    You must secure your place in the Freshman Class by submitting the $200 non-refundable tuition deposit (Florida Bright Futures or Florida Prepaid plans do not cover this deposit). Complete the online Intent to Enroll form and pay your online tuition deposit no later than May 1. The tuition deposit will be applied to your UF account.
  4. Apply for Financial Aid
    The Office of Admissions recommends that all students complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The UF “On- Time” application is March 15; applying several weeks early will ensure that UF has time to process the results of your FAFSA.   5. Secure Your Housing
    To secure housing, you must be admitted to UF, have completed your housing application and paid the $25 non-refundable application fee. Approximately two weeks after admission, the Department of Housing and Residence Education will email additional information on how to complete the housing contract and return the Contract ID form with advance rent payment by the date specified.
  6. Register for Preview
    Preview is your introduction to UF and is a mandatory two-day orientation for students and is encouraged for family members. You will learn about academic requirements, receive academic advising from a faculty member and register for classes. You and your family will attend sessions on financial aid, housing, student health, campus safety, dining services, campus involvement and many other programs and services. Additional information.
  7. Required Immunizations
    UF requires all new students to show proof of immunizations prior to attending UF Preview/orientation. In order to register for classes, students must submit a completed UF Mandatory Immunization Health History form . NOTE: If needed, these immunizations may be obtained from the Student Health Care Center on the UF campus in Gainesville.
  8. Proof of Insurance
    All domestic students who are enrolled at least half time in a degree-seeking program, as well as all international students, are required to provide proof of health insurance that meets or exceeds UF's guidelines or they will be automatically enrolled in the default student insurance plan.   9. Send UF Your Final Transcripts
    All offers of admission are tentative. until the Office of Admissions receives your final high school and/or college transcripts. You must make arrangements to send your final high school and college transcripts to our office.
  10. Enrollment Confirmation
    All admitted students who wish to accept their offers of admissions must confirm their intention to enroll and secure their space in the class with a $200 non-refundable deposit. The deposit will be credited to your account when you enroll to be used toward your tuition and fees. The $200 deposit is non-refundable. If you do not enroll, you will forfeit the deposit.
